A beautiful picture indeed of LCW!
Yes just as Miss Ipoh has commented, LCW was dancing with an invisible partner! Certainly not a waltz or a slow fox trot, but rather a more jazzy number such as the rock 'n' roll or a Latin rhumba!
Look at LCW's handle grip which was so clearly photographed! How the fingers were well spread out covering the handle lightly. He did not hold right to the end of the handle but leave some space for manoeuverability.
But more importantly - his balance and stability! Even on almost one leg, he epitomizes strength and steadiness. And the deceptiveness in his poise, his body language, especially his eyes, will confuse his opponent into making second guesses as to where he will hit the shuttle!
