to be honest so far i have been playing badminton as a hobby. been seeing all the people talking about differnet weights, shapes, flexibility and grip sizes about rackets. really get seriously confused with all these info's. i would like to get a nice and new racket but before doing so could some 1 please make me undetsatnd what is good for each of them?! such as is 3u better then 4u, or head heavy better then balanced things like that????????????
welcome to BC........... new member, new thread, same questions........... 1. weight - consist of 2U(90-95g), 3U(85-89g), 4U(80-85g) 2. shapes(head) - oval shape and iso head 3. flex(shaft) - flexi, medium flex, still, extra stiff (flex = more power generate from racket, less control, stiff = less power generates from racket, more control) 4. grip size - G3, G4, G5 (G3 bigger than G4 bigger than G5, G3>G4>G5) #base on Yonex code, may differ from other make. for beginner, like you, go for 3U, iso head, medium flex and grip size to your suit. string Yonex BG-66 @ 22lbs
thats awsome seriously i suppose i am now a lil more literate on those info's. thanks again for the ans but here is another thing, if you look at the attached pic which is a Victor G 7500 VI, this is the racket i have been using for a while now. honestly i have been loving it. Shape: Isometric Weight: 89g Flexibility: Stiff the string snapped 1ce but got it restranged. but 1 thing i have been finiding hard is smashing. apart from that seriosuly i think its a funky looking cool and durable racket? whats you thought on that then??? also what is 22lbs?? i mean what is this related to, is it something to do with the string tension if so how does it works??? also wat do u think abt Challenger Ti 70?
22lbs shows how tight your strings are. If you're a novice, then it's a good tension for you. Also, a lot of these questions have been answered a while ago, so try a search, or look through the badmintoncentral faqs section.
hey,don get so confuse with so many weight,size,fexlible.....bla bla bla...... the most important is what game(single/double) u play the most? what is ur style(smash lover or drop shot lover)? and which racket feels good when u holding it(a special feeling about thats it! when u holding it)? other just for the spec info only.u cant buy a racket base on spec.cheap racket can be nice too if that suit ur style.the problem is base on string.string nice then u can play more comfortable.
