taufik currently holds the world record for the fastest smash... in a singles game.
jonassen was the previous record holder.

fu hai feng, no doubt on that...and tan boon heong, as well....and if i could recall...i think rexy and ricky subagja possess a powerful smash as well...and soo beng kiang too, if you watch thomas cup 1992...huhu...

Cheah Soon Kit was the more powerful smasfer of the two yes.
In fact Cheah was the precursor of the jumping powerful smashers for MD from behind in the late 80s. We malaysians and I believe the Indonesians were left mouth gaping when Cheah at 18 blasted Lim Siew king and Booby Ertanto in TC 88.
We all thought only the Chinese MD of LYB and TBY could execute attacking play. But even their smashes werent as steep and fast as Cheah's.
After Cheah, came to the scene, Rexy and Ricky came along with equally big smashes but their technique was better than Cheah in that they were able to sustain their volley longer than Cheah.
