Exclamation Lindan Escapes Punishment over Korea Incident

Badminton World Federation's Major Incident Review Team (MIRT) have decided not to punish Lindan over the incident that happens in Korea. However BWF will be looking into the Hawkeye system and as well as pushing for more independent line judges in the future tournaments.

That would be fair, I guess LD wouldnt do something so rash if un-provoked.

i still reckon they should both be punished, even if it's a fine just to set an example that this kind of behaviour should not be tolerated.

both should be found guilty of unsporting behaviour, whether or not provoked.

Using independent line judges will have a big impact on the overall costing of the game, will it be good for badminton in the long run?

If the independent line-judges make the game reach a higher standard, it should weigh more than the costs to achieve that. I believe what MIRT/BWF is trying at the moment, can change the game in a positive way.

Both should not be punished, in my opinion. Lin Dan had a reason to get angry, although his behaviour wasn't ok. However, Li Mao didn't have that reason.

IMO, KBA should be warned of the linejudging and Lindan should be punished for his actions. LiMao has no reason to be punished since he is defending himself from the racket thrown by Lindan.

The findings obviously blame the KBA for creating an environment that incited all sorts of unruly behaviour and even possible violence. KBA was the root cause, and any unruly outbursts/behaviour were solely caused by the KBA's biased and poor management of the tournament.
