    Hello People

I would like to start stringing my own rackets and was wondering if people could tell me what the cheapest most effective stringing machine is and where to get it.

I don't really want to spend over £250

    Thanks

Don't forget to order the Fly Clamps from (in following order) HiQua, Yonex, MBS, Eagnas.

what about the easy-3. For about 50usd more it boasts a single fixed clamp and a hold down clamping method around the frame?

Nope, not for me. Though I like the fixed clamp, I don't like the clamping method, it's harder to use, harder to get right.

Oh man, I wouldn't get this thing unless you live in LA. You have to be there in person or else Eagnas in LA will send you a used and defective unit.

They are so generic in appearance and that's all I can say.

These two machines, from the photo, look identical.

Watdon sells the Pro's Pro for 135 UKP and ships from UK
The other sells for ~224 UKP. I'm not sure why there's such a big difference in price.

The two flying clamps that come with the PP SE are not as strong for gripping at higher tensions as the MBS clamps (which others have said are the same as Hi Qua).

Watdon also lists the Yonex flying clamp for 8 UKP which, from what I've seen, is one of the least expensive anywhere. It's even less than the MBS or HiQua from MBS.

One word of warning is the PP's seem to often lack user manuals in the box. It's very easy and I didn't need any.

From the photos of the ST-250, I think the ST-250 would be easier and faster to string with than the PP SE. The mounting hardware on the PP SE make it a tighter fit for clamping and weaving near the throat and head.

    Good quality Portable machine

You may have already ordered the Shuttle Express from Pro's Pro, but if cost is most important then go ahead. If you want quality & value for money, go for the Exthree AM200. The Pros Pro is a cheaper quality version of it. I owned an AM200 for 3 years and found it brilliant, I sold it and now use a floor standing Exthree 2600 suitable for all rackets.
The AM200 has just been reduced in price from £350 to £250 from Yehlex UK web site and comes in a good tool box with all you need.
I have used Exthree & Pro's Pro and the latter are not engineered to the same standard which is noticeable when stringing.

In essence you get what you pay for !

    Hope this helps

Cheers people but I've had to put the stringing machine on hold because my coach has offered to buy me a stringing machine and send all her clients my way for a cut of the profits. We are having a business meeting on Saturday.

Hopefully we can come to a good arrangement
