I would say its more offensive than defensive? If your looking for a defensive racket in that price range try the MP21.

This is a brilliant racket. I have multiple of these and have been using them for the last 5 years, at least. Very easy to handle and the best part of my experience with this racket is that it is capable of producing varied results depending on stringing. You can get defensive results from this racket with BG65 strung at moderate tension and good attacking results (for an intermediate player) by using BG80 or NBG98 at slightly higher tensions. Overall great value for money :)

at the end of the day, string is personal preference. One is not 'better' than the other.

Just bought MP29, must say very impressed... Smashes and shots are precise... Sits well in the hand... The feel is fabulous. Still getting used to it but for now it's like Harry Potter when he first held his wand at olivanders... Everything is perfects :))

Hi, I have this racket and have stringed it with Yonex BG 65 and the tension is 25. For me this is working out pretty well. You could try the titanium version of the BG 65 also.
