    Ian Spear, umpire, is 50 TOMORROW!

    Ian is a good friend of mine and I hope that he will forgive me for this!

    To his eternal credit Ian is an umpire from England as distinct from being an English umpire. Ian became EBU Certificated in 1998; IBF Accredited in 2002 and IBF Certificated in 2006.

    Now we have BC members (kinda) from all sides of the net. Would be interesting to get Ian's take on the fame as he sees it. Happy 50th. A good innings.
