    Looking for oppinions:

Just had my racket(yonex armortec 800df) restrung today at 22lbs. However got it back home and realised one of the grommets at the top of the frame had sunk - the string is now resting on the frame. The stringer is saying not to worry about it because the pressure will be on the bottom where the grommet now is.

To me this doesn't make sense as surely the string will rub against the frame at the top and cause it to break and possibly do damage to the frame? But im not sure as i havn't experienced this sort of thing before.

    What do you guys think?

To make urself feel better,n to minimize the chance of breaking, just cut off the string n go to the other place to restring,n ask them to also change the sunk gromments for u..

Sorry I don't have the racket with me, i took it back to the shop and then the stringer phoned me back later on.
The grommet head has just gone into the string hole - the frame itself is currently unharmed.

i'd suggest poking it out and replacing it with a new grommet.
shouldn't be too hard for the stringer to do.

Ok got the racket back now, pictures are attached. As you can see the grommet has just dropped down in.
The stringer said not to worry and play with it, if it breaks he will replace it - but is there a chance it will damage the frame?
I'm tempted just to cut them and find another stringer - problem is this area lacks stringers! :(

personally, i would cut the strings and get it restrung. the string might cut into the frame of your racquet, especially on impact with the shuttle when you're playing.

I really wonder how this can happen, unless the head of the gromment was badly damaged. Cut the string, replace the gromment and re do it. Not worth to risk an expensive racket for a string job.

Good to hear that you have cut the strings.. The grommet hole might get worse if you keep playing with it.
