I'd go for Taufik Hidayat, he has different style to other players & have other unique qualities, same with Lee Chong Wei's style & defensive play.

and Wong Choong Hann's nice footwork. =D

    The most creative....
I'd say Tony Gunawan or Mia Audina (retired).

Lin Dan is also very creative (surprisingly so for his style of play). Taufik had a great style and netskill... Peter Gade is very deceptive

Actually, there're a lot of good things you can say about pro's...
Maybe that's because they're some inhumanly good ;)
This is about as challenging as arguing which colour is the prettiest :p

Peter Gade in the early 2000's came out as a very explosive player and he attack a lot of shots. He also came out as a deceptive player. Known for pulling risky shots and using unorthodox methods to win the game.

...I'd go for TH as well...an artist indeed!

For the rest I'd mention Lee Jae Jin (KOR) and Nathan Robertson (ENG) - both capable of exquisite badminton moments, and for the ladies Gao Ling (CHN) and Lilliana Natsir (IND).

I am surprised nobody mentioned LYB for his innovation of match fixing. LOL.:p

Back to topic... Peter Gade is my choice. Or Lin Dan's triple dive shot retrieving technique:p

    Well..

..i'm surprised no one has mentioned Koo Kien Keat for his innovation in pulling off different hair colors/styles (even as far as going bald) while at the same time accessorizing himself with jade pendants, rings, bracelets, gold earrings & chains....all the bling2 (even Taufik couldn't pull that off)...
*okay, enough picking on KKK, before our koo_fan is upset*...:p ;)

As for the "best/innovative player in the world in this century", well, i think it's a bit early as it's only been 8 yrs, isn't it??...So, i think the answer should come in about 92 more yrs... :p:cool:
