Red card is rarely used in badminton tournaments generally, but I did happen to see once "fortunately".

Did you? And in which match(es)?

I remember it happened once in the last Thomas Cup during the match between KKK/CCM and ML/JE. Please correct me if I am wrong.

    A Red Card?
Sorry for being so clueless, but I play soccer and am definitely familiar with that kind of red card (have had a couple myself), but what is a Red Card in Badminton and is it the same or similar with a Soccer Red Card in effect?

Red cards are only for very serious offences in badminton. If a player/team gets a red card, the point is immediately awarded to the opposing player/team, and there is a change of service. Nobody gets sent off.

To get sent off (which in effect, ends the match), the umpire has to ask the presiding referee for a black card.

At the moment, you can read the description of BCers who watched the match then :

And apparently the download link still works, only 1st & 2nd set :

I downloaded it a few months ago. If it doesnt work, I'll re-upload later.

CCM got the red card in 2nd set at 18-17, the umpire was super strict, ME/JL also got yellow card. It caused CCM/KKK to lose 2nd set but they won in rubber.
