I recently just bought an Armortec 900P. My friend has one and is heavier than mine as his one is from japan whilst mine is from taiwan.. does that mean mine is a fake?? according to Ar Dan, taiwan ones are the cheaper ones.. i got mine for RM250..
RM250 = below USD100 Armortec 900s are suppose to be at least over USD160. Also, if yours is genuine, your friend might have a 4U and you've got a 3U
if you got yours new for 250, then it's definitely a fake. plus the at900 should always be made in japan, only lower end models are made in taiwan, such as the at150.
from all i know is it's Taiwan made and the shaft doesn't really seem to be stiff... so i suppose it's a fake.. damn.. i got tricked by my own trainer... yeesh.... thanks a lot for the info guys...
surprisingly, it doesn't actually feel that bad.. eventhough it doesn't have the prominent head heavy weight, it still smashes quite well compared to my titanium dream.. my dream is strung to 26lbs and my armortec at 27lbs... nt much of a difference but there's quite a gap in performance... not that disappointed now.. but just imagine if it were to be the authentic one... it'd be tons better..
The Grommets, the frame shape, and string pattern. Grommets doesnt have Square one. AT900T Frame should be Aero shape but the fake one is Box Shape; AT900P is vice versa. Fake AT900 using old stringing pattern instead new one.
There are some levels of fake in china..n from what i know, there is 2,or 3 levels of fake. The lowest one, they sell it at about 60-100rmb.Poor in everything. The no 1 quality in china would be called 厂货拍.In mainland china alone, the price can go from 200-400rmb.That's almost one third price of the genuine one.It claimed to be able to be strung up to 28lbs,built with the same material, exact copy of the genuine, got the internal t-joint,great paint job,n even the same format of serial numbers, engraved.
Btw,do u mean that urs r made in taiwan,or TW coded??Some ppl that's still new in yonex rackets would have misunderstood these terms. When they look at the distribution code, some of them thinks that it's the made in.Since AT900 n other yonex high ends r made in japan. While distribution codes means for where the racket should be distributed.Having a TW,if it is just the distribution code, doesn't mean it's fake.I personally have a genuine TW AT900P. So,if u're still eager to find out whether urs are real or not, post pics of it..
i will post some pics later on when i find time to take and edit them. I don't know about the grommets because I have no idea how to differentiate them, but my POWER is definitely the box shape. Not the Aero shape that Technique has. I also tried finding differences with my friend's authentic one. The only differences are(all these reffering to the authentic one):1, it has a clearer "Nanoscience" engraved onto it. 2, the colour "POWER" on the top of the frame is much darker. 3, the head is much heavier than the fake one. 4, the "Nanoscale ELASTIC-TI" of the authentic one is written on the south-east & south-west of the racket whilst mine is written on the east & west. Mine is a Taiwan made, but it's SP coded, not TW. I still don't get the differences between all these codes SP/TW/JP and so on... I will post the pics as soon as i can...
make sure you get the size of the pictures right, if it doesn't meet the size requirements, it would get attached.
