Any possibility to add "edit" button for post, in case to modify some typos in the submitted post? Thanks.
You can only edit your posts within the first 15 minutes after you've posted it. After that, you can't edit it.. only the admins and moderators can.
Speaking of editing typos... ...hmm, did i just notice BC now has a spell-checker being added to the posting window??..has this been on for a while or it's just been added??..
hmm, actually i also dunno bc now has spell-checker, chris, where exactly the spell checker at the posting window???
Uh-dooohh..me, dumb, dumb... ..i didn't even realize i was surfing and posting using Firefox, instead of IE (or maybe there's a setting in IE that i should turn on). Usually when i post, using IE, i don't see those red dash-line under incorrectly spelled or unrecognizable words. George, you'll see a red dash-line underneath incorrectly spelled/unrecognizable words, when you're trying to post/typing a reply (just like in Microsoft Word)...anyway, mystery solved..
AFAIK, the spell-check function within our post-window is browser-dependent. I don't know if Internet Explorer provides this for Windows machines... but, surely, a free plug-in should be available. Of course, on a Mac, Safari has had this function for a long time now
Hmm..same like in Microsoft Word.. ..george@chongwei, launch Microsoft Word and start typing in there. Now, type the word 'thing' but spell it incorrectly like 'thnig'. You should see a red dash-line underneath the word, that's the spell-check feature. If that doesn't show up when you are typing a reply, in BC, then that's what i was asking for. In IE, it doesn't appear but in Firefox, it appears. Btw, thanks guys for the inputs-
^^Hmm..^^ ..if you typed the word 'thing' as 'thnig' in BC, using your Firefox, and the red dash-line doesn't appear, then you might not have the latest and greatest plug-ins or updates for Firefox...
i typed the word thnig and then the red dash line got appear.. but its seems weird that the word will not change to the real meaning
it is not direct update. need to add by your ownself..... add which that you prefer..... https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/browse/type:3#dictionaries
Really frustrating. The best and biggest forum for our loved sport and no funktion to edit own postings for longer than 15 minutes. Would be not only usefull for typing-errors. I have found one link-error in a thread, i opened by myself but located it 2 days after. bye, thegrobi www.badminton-tips.de
I was actually going to post something about this. I get that there is probably a reason why people can't edit their posts after a certain timeframe, but I feel it could be very useful and beneficial if it would be possible to edit guides, long posts and stickies. I could probably have added a lot of new things to my thread in the stringing forums, but the impossibility to edit the post kinda stopped me from doing it. So if allowing everyone to edit their post is out of the question, maybe a contributor rank could be useful to allow some people to edit their guides or information threads ?
Most definitely. You just need to pm a moderator and they can help you edit beyond the time limit ...
