whats the difference between these two versions.. in opinion if there is NO difference i will purchase the old version because it looks better in colour in my opinion..
the new version is definitely more heavier than the old version of the same specification. The more weight is caused by the thicker paintjob. And it seems that the new version is a little bit more flexible. Greet
That's because it's a rare item now. The JP-models are expensive as well because they're considered 'rare' and better performing too.. I wonder how much the old at700 Jp would cost! But new at700 is probably more durable btw.
The pros use both. Look at Chen Jin, Chen Yu, Tony Gunawan.. they use the new version. Lin Dan's probably the odd-one out still using the old version. Well, Lin Dan uses it probably because the shaft is stiffer or something. I dont know much..
The actual fact was most of the China player are compulsory to return their racquets to the team after a certain period of use example like Women Double player - Yu Yang has been asked to return her old AT-700 to the team and replace with NS-9S before she again switch to AT-900. I guess LD has spare at least 6 - 8 pcs of the old AT-700 and will only switch to another new racquet after the Beijing Olympic however, I believe LD does enjoy certain privilege under LYB team system.
As the world No.1, I am sure Lin can ask for whatever he wants, even an old AT-700 with AT-900P paint job. I don't think players like to switch rackets too often.
Lin already has many at-700 old stock in his bag, it's not wise to switch because the new color looks better... as long as it's still the same racquet...
AT-700 old vs new model This is the officially answer from YY: There is no difference except the design and color. All specification and material are applied the same.
There are many types and grades of uhm graphite and hm graphite. My personal take is that the new and the old AT-700 feel different from each other. The old one has better tactile feeling and it feels more balanced. The new one has a feeling that all the parts do no fit together into an integrated whole. Lin Dan may have to switch to the new AT-700 once all his stock of the old model is exhausted. From Yonex's view continuing with a model, even a world-beating one, for too long can be bad for their bottom line.
i disagree. -once ld win the gold at 08 OG, he has no qualm of switching. -ld just need to refrain from throwing rackets at people or stop giving out his rackets to fans. -even if he ran out of old 700's, lyb can order any stores in china with old stock to fork them up. Then HK stores. All stores will obey as it is their national duty china team ain't poor, they can buy up 100's of them as inventory right now if they wish. i'm not worry ld running out of the old 700's
