Does anyone have any experience using the Eagnas Flex 160 ($199). I'm thinking of buying it and replacing the clamps w/ badminton floating clamps (PN-3050). Is there anything else that i need to replace on this machine or should I just invest a little more money and buy the ST-250. Thanks in advance.

Btw, ST-250 is a crank machine and i've read on the forum that drop weight is better.

I'm not ok about this. If drop weight is can be considered as constant pull, it takes much more time to string, and it's not as easy....

this is just for personal use so i really don't mind if it takes 5-10mins longer to string a racquet.. the difference in price for both machine is about $120.. eagnas emailed me back and was told that they can exchange the tennis clamps and tennis awl to badminton clamps and badminton awl (no extra charge)

I would recommend a pair of Hi-Qua floating clamps, because they are very much better that the one's that eagnas have.

Try a search on forums about Eagnas. You'll see they have some bad criticisms about their service/products...

Is it also necessary to buy a Starting Clamp or 4 floating clamp is enough to string a racquet?

i saw that flex model too and am tempted to get it. i know itll be worth the 200 you spend on it assuming you dont get a broken/jacked up model eagnas is sometimes known to send. 6 point suspension, drop weight, you just gotta be alright with starting it with either a starting clamp or pin or whatever method you choose, there are more. And also not being able to pull the 11th mains, is some what of a factor to me.

How do other people with drop weights deal with the 10th/11th main? Just pull the 10th and tie?

If you already make up your mind on Eagnas product, and it is for badminton racket only, I would go with ST-250.
The fly clamp you can get from here. ( at least order 4 of them. I use 6. )

If consistent pulling machine, I don't think you really need the starting clamp. Personally, I use 3 or 4 clamps for my string job. Personally, I prefer HQ flying clamps for main and Yonex ones for cross. ;)

Depend on the starting method you use. We have discussed the subject in great detail on how to start with or without satrting clamp. Also, drop weight machine is constant pull IMHO. The side supports for flex 160 are for tennis as factory send you. Also, when you string a badminton racquet, the side support are very close to each other and not supporting the weak point.
If you want, I have 1 used Klippermate (tennis weight, min tension is 20lb)and come with 2 new Yoenx Fly Clamps and 1 set of Yoenx Stringer's kit. PM me if you are interested.

Klippermate M140 is special designed for badminton, and was used by quite a few BC/BFers here (including myself). Even though, it only offers 2 point support, but if you mainly working no more than 26lbs, I don't see there's any issue with it. ;)

2 point support is not gonna work for me since i'm string my racquet at 27/29. i'm also looking at Eagnas GEII which is $10 cheaper and offers a six-point, hold-down mounting system.. this is the pics but the GEII does not have the fixed clamp.
