how do u gain the rally or in other terms, the "attack" in singles? i always have a hard time trying to gain the attack and what i do is try to drop more often but at points, i have to lift the shuttle and they smash at my weak side. How do i prevent myself from lifting the shuttle a lot when ur under stress?

a good strategy i apply is to drop again. the opponent gets caught unaware. otherwise make sure ur lift reaches the back of court, near the lines

In singles, lifting is not really a problem. Just make sure your lifts reach the back, and that they are just high enough so that he can't intercept them with a jump.

A deceptive, shallow lift often gives you the advantage, because your opponent is late to the shuttle.
