There are many mystery i want to know about badminton central. 1. Who owns this website? 2. some member are registered user, some are regular member. What are the different?

kwun is the administrator here. he's currently based in the states. you can look up his profile under the members section.

Welcome.. ..BCBF, takeshi!...It's good that you've found many mysteries in BC..Glad you've found this place and good for you as many of the BC members are from M'sia. As for your queries, the folks above have answered them. Re for your 2nd mystery question, all of us, except the owner (kwun), are EQUAL in advantages/privileges and disadvantages (maybe the Reg. Members get more PM capacity). In general the longer you stay in BC and most importantly the MORE you post and be active in BC, you'll be one of the Regular Members. The rank or hierarchy, if you'd like to know, goes like this (reverse order, with Owner being the highest one): New Member Registered User Regular Member Moderator Owner (sorry, there's no Co-Owner status for this place)... Anyway, have fun & continue surfing this place! And please, don't stop asking us questions, if you have any!
BC Nomenclature ctjcad is, as usual, right... kwun owns the website A long time ago, the system was such that, after a certain number of posts, a new member would become a regular member. However, that method fell into disuse as the website migrated to better systems and more features. New members became registered users instead. In essence, there's little practical difference between regular members and registered users (aside from the mundane point that a regular member is someone who signed up a long time ago). takeshi, do be assured that there are no privileges that accrue to one category but not the other On the matter of heirarchy, I beg to differ with ctjcad. In this forum, members come first (and have all the fun too) PS: In fact, I can't get over the fact that the words 'moderator' and 'administrator' rhyme with 'janitor'
At 1st, I thought those who stay longer, their status will changed from Registered User to Regular Member. But, it's not so. See picture. Do you notice the different? It also not depend on how many treads you post. Never see a moderator or owner before. Maybe kwun can answer that. It's still a mystery....
Hmm.. ..yes, kwun doesn't have the title of Moderator or Owner on his profile. He goes by the title, Administrator. But, yes, he's the (sole) owner of BC. As for your query about the different types of BC members, maybe we can all continue discussing it in that thread; more relevant topic. Anyway, welcome again.... *Btw, the last member shown, above, Winston T, has been temporarily banned, unbanned and banned. So, i'm not sure if his BC membership changes or not...
