Hello sifus and friends, In not so distant future, I'll be buying my second badminton racket. My current one is Bedini Mega Swing 8: 3UG4, long shaft, medium flex. I'm intermediate player, not so bad however not too good either. I don't smash often and when I do it will be a really good and well placed shuttle. Knowing my kind of play, I'm not too crazy to get a Yonex largely due to exorbitant price tag it normally has. Can anybody suggest the model from Carlton that is comparable or equivalent to Yonex Armortech? The reason is I quite like the technology in Armortech. Thanks.
Thanks again for the quick reply. I'll go over Hock Eng in Bangi to find out if they have this and have a feel of it in my hand.
yeap.... must try hands on. it feels solidly build. have a look on the photos www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48059&page=5
I propose to you Carlton Powerflo series - 805 red, 806 blue or 807 black. Good overall racket with a reasonable price. At HE Bangi its only RM 149 (kosong). Can be your back up racket. Selamat Mencuba.
Thanks for the suggestions. Actually, I want it to be my main instead of backup racket. So is the Powerflo still up to the task?
Hi wakloo, Care to feedback any differences in term of performance between 806 and 807. I am having 806, if the 807 is much better, then i will consider to get one, provided still have stock in JB. If you dun mind, please help to find out the outlet that i can get in JB. Many thanks in advance.
I think 807 is more stiff than the others. That the only difference while the other specs are same. Actually, its so hard to find in JB now. Im only saw it at HE bangi last month.
I'm using powerblade 9902 since a month ago and I think it is a good racket for offense as well as defence. But again, I suggest you to try the racket first because it all depends of your "feel" of the racket.
Both the Powerflo 807 and Powerblade 9902 sounds good. However, to try a racket is almost impossible because most if not all of my friends are using Yonex. Of course in Hock Eng Bangi we can touch the racket but that is far as anyone can go. Swing swing, touch touch, then back to where it was hanged. If only anyone near Bangi, Semenyih, Kajang (all in Malaysia) can give me a try on these 2.
Managed to go to Hock Eng Sports last Sunday (1 June 2008). Unfortunately they don't have Powerblade 9902, only Powerflo 805/806/807 at RM139 (if I remember correctly) plus string and racket bag (can fit in 2 rackets). Anyone know which shop carries the Powerblade 9902 in Malaysia?
Either it is difficult to find Carlton racket or I looked at a wrong place. Can anyone suggest where to find this "rare species" here in Selangor, Malaysia?
