or you find used feather ones that are relatively good condition, ones with minor broken feathers

Cheap and durable seems paradoxal to me...
    E.G:
    Yonex AS-10 en AS-5
    or
    Victor Queen
    Forza 40 or 60

cheap but all not very durable

Plastic shuttles is a good solution:
Yonex 500 or 370 is pretty equal to feather

    or indeed used feathers

    cheers,

    Pat!

You can try the sotx BB201 shuttles. They are cheap and rather durable. One shuttle can last 1game plus

You could try one of the lower RSL tourney tubes such as RSL tourney No.4

The shuttlecocks in Singapore are also very expensive, Protech Masterpiece just went up 3 SGD to 27 SGD recently. I am currently buying shuttlecocks from China, using deyizhi No. 1, durable and relatively cheap.Managed to have a few other brands sending over to Singapore(recommended by friends in China) to try, hopefully I can get ever better ones

I have some Mavis 500, that i hardly use, but for a few times we did use it, we never broke one. The same one's been smashed around for probably 20 hours total. The cork isn't dented eitehr, how do you break one of these things? :D

When quoting an old post, it's only fair that its age be highlighted.

It must be clarified that Dinkalot's comments are from October 2006.
Matters might have changed for the better... or, equally, might have worsened.

You could ask Dinkalot if his previous view still holds good :)

I got some cheap and durable shuttles (around $8/dozen) from my chinese friend zcao6@gatech.edu, and they are very good! they are very similar to those $15 ones in the US market right now.

It is a very small brand ,you can treat it as NO-BRAND.

This shuttle is best for practice & beginners I'v tried , you will know it once you tried.

It is my seond time recommendated shuttle here , the first time I recommendated was
    Chao Pai.
