smtp emails

    lets say I have an email called ex@bc.com
    I am connected to singtel.
    what should the the outgoing smtp server be?:confused: I triend smtp.singnet.com and it is not working (I can receive mail but can't send it out:(). I am also using thunderbird email client.

    Appreciate your help.

    mail.singnet.com.sg

    You might need to specify uid/pwd in your email client.

    I tried singnet like what you suggested earlier. Even called 1610. Cannot lah. Hopeless. Wonder what is blocking it. On the site, it says could be due to port no. But 25 is standard correct? Wonder why. Frustrating and time wasting.:(

    may i know what email client you use?
    also, some problem sometimes happen because of anti virus / firewall in your computer.

    I think most likely is your anti virus.
    It happened to me before. If I m not wrong, I was using Norton. It has a functionality to scan in & out emails. It was somehow always giving me a "timeout" error while trying to sending email.
    May be what you can try is test by disabling email scaning.
