    .
    Greetings,

In just a few hours, Day 1 of the Singapore Badminton Open 2008 will begin with its Qualifying Rounds.

For the Mens Singles, many are hoping for participants, Kuan Beng Hong, Jan O Jorgensen, Poompat Sapkulchananari, Mohd Arif Abdul Latif, Gong Weijie, Tommy Sugiarto, etc... could make it into the Main Draw. However, only 4 would be able to do so.

For the Womens Singles, Lydia Cheah should be able to make it into the Main Draw.

We hope to receive some reports from BC members who will be there on Day 1.

    Cheers... chris@ccc

Singapore Open 2008: Tommy Sugiarto withdrew

    .
arumdaun ... You are correct. Tommy Sugiarto has withdrawn and this would allow Andreas Adityawarman an easier path into the Main Draw.

Round 2 of MS Qualification should be very interesting to determine who will enter Round 3 for a crack at the Main Draw:

11:20 AM Zi Liang Derek WONG [SIN] - [MAS] Beng Hong KUAN

11:40 AM Yong Zhao Ashton CHEN [SIN] - [MAS] Mohd Arif ABDUL LATIF

11:40 AM Chun Seang TAN [MAS] - [KOR] Ji Hoon HONG

12:00 PM Allan TAI [MAS] - [SIN] Guo Rui CHEN

Allan Tai seems to have an easier opponent.

The qualification round today will search 8 qualifiers from MS and WS to enter main draw tomorrow. At this moment Germany WS player, Nicole Grether has secured one place.

Who are the 4 MS you predict will enter the Main Draw?

Chris, I'm not there yet. Will drop over after lunch to witness the last few but important matches for the qualifiers.
