    Hi

I want to know how the sound froom the string sounds like. There are many threads about how loud the boom or pok sound is but it doesnt show the "frequenzy".

You can write down the sound type and loudness (if it sounds strong)

    what i have heard the:

    BG80 sounds "BOOM" "bassy"
    BG65 sounds "BANG" "bang"
    BG66 sounds "TCHIING" "crisp"

the sound also depends on the microphone being used in a video.

The commentary said it was from the crowd right before Peter Rasmussen hit the shuttle, not from Peter hitting the birdie.

    Oh yes! You're right..

These noises can be quite deceiving.. This is similar to what many table tennis players do when they serve. They stomp really hard on the floor to make a huge 'bom!!' sound.. It could be a really fast serve, or it can be a really high-spin serve.. nobody knows.

I'd be suprised if anyone can actually make such a big sound from actually hitting the shuttle with the string bed..

The only reason people stomp in table tennis is to distract the opponent.

Shouting during a game of doubles ( badminton ) is also effective in distracting the opponent. Perhaps, using a string which makes a huge 'boom' sound could also intimidate the opponents if they are beginners.

actually i think it all sounds the same....when its a power shot, but when its control, then the sounds become diff, eg TI series strings sound more hollow and metallic, whereas bg65 is a thud sound.

Yes I think you are right! The camera zoomed into kids holding balloons after that rally!
It sounded like a balloon popping just before Peter cleared the shuttle.
Commentator also sed it was from the crowd.
