    Greetings all,

My name is Mario (kingmarioxv) and I am proud to represent our little island of Jamaica (I seem to be the only person from JA so far .

Apart from cricket, football, TRACK AND FIELD (we currently have the 2 fastest men in the world; watch out Beijing 2008!), there is also badminton which has been experiencing steady growth in the past 5 years of so.

I am 21 yrs old at this time of writing and am currently ranked #6 in our D division here in JA (we run from A-national to D-beginners). Although I have been playing for going on 9 years now, I have only had a coach since late 2006 and only started playing in tourneys since last year. I'd like to think of myself as an intermediate player now and I hope to move up the divisions in the future.

I hope that badminton will continue to grow and like Martial Arts (Jamaica has won quite a few tournaments in the past two years on the world level including beating China and Japan :D) we will soon produce top class athletes that will be on the world stage.

As I always say think positive and I look forward to enjoying this forum more and more.

    Mario XXI

    Welcome to BCBF, Mario!!
I remember before that there was another person from Jamaica, with an AR100F. :O

I do hope that Jamaica will be stronger in badminton too, so that this sport won't just be dominated by asian counties!

Hope you enjoy your time here at BC.. :)

    Welcome to BF!

Looking forward to a possible "lightning bolt" 100 & 200m double in BJ.

Hoping the Bolt will ease the pressure from Asafa.

@ limsy - I heard about something to that effect a couple years ago but I don't think it's still going on.

@everyone - Thanks for the welcome.
