I bought my Yonex racket one year ago. Now when I play it the top string keeps moving. I always have to adjust it to line up parallel again. In one spot, it looks like it is about to crack. The factory string is BG65 but I want to string it to BG80 at 22lbs. Should I play till it cracks itself or just string it? I am not a professional, I am a beginner-mid level. And the strings are also starting to lose control whenever I try to use net shots. Please tell me what I should do. Below is a picture of my string right now.
string moving and wear like the one you showed is normal. i would play till it cuts through and then have it restrung. it looks like it should still have a bit of life in it.
Just cut the string but i am not sure if the tension is right for you because each person varies. String movement happens to everyone so don't worry about it.
I would say re-string it, then you would notice a difference when you hit it. It's hard to saw how long the factory string last since it would be dependent on how hard to hit. Try comming to RPro night drop-in on C1 morning drop-in Saturday.
Thanks for the invitation. I'm only 14 though. And is it REALLY necessary to restring now because I usually only play on Saturday nights with a bunch of friends. And we aren't that hardcore. How much do the drop-ins cost? I've never been to one.

as i said. play till it breaks. don't worry too much about the equipment, the key is to have fun playing badminton.
Having fun with equipment performance going down hill!! Nada in my books . The other thing is that you are going to start doubting not re-strining anywyas, so just get them re-stringed.

I have to agree with this. Enjoying badminton is something that is hard to come by. Most people associate winning as enjoying, which is quite bad.
since your not professional, advanced or intermediate...the string will not affect your play...btw the "Crack" is called wear and tear. BTW, how long your strings will last you is hard to say...but a good way to guess is this : "how long have you been usng those strings for?" then multiple that by 3 and you should get an approximate total lifespan.
