What tools do you use to remove them? so far I have been pushing them out a little from the inside of the frame with a grommet grinder and then pulling out the whole grommet via the head with some flat nosed pliers. Kind of hoping someone has found a nice easy way of doing it?

Also to get the grommets to the right size I trim them with my string cutter (diagonal cutter I think is the proper name) but they feel a little sharp, so I file them down a little with the grinder tool. Is this unnecessary? what are you pro's thoughts on this?

Thanks for the help as always guys.

Whatever works for you the best. I have a sort of tools.
    1) exacto knife to cut the grommet from inside of the frame.
    2) point nose plier to remove the grommet.
    3) nail clipper in case I need to clip my toe nail and get to hard to reach area of grommet.
    4) a needle or pin to clear the broken grommet inside of the frame.
    5) a hammer in case of everything fail, break the frame...:crying:

    Yes?
Do you have any broken grommet?
Just a side story, a high school student ask me to string her racquet. I replaced all but 5 grommets on that racquet. Took over 1.5 hr to do that. The hammer was the next option...

    use ice

Hi, I have not tried this before, but I think may work for you: put the racket head to ice or ice water.
The plastic grommets will shrink down in size; but the racket(graphite) does not shrink down in size that much. In this way, you can remove the plastic grommets out of the frame easily.
I hope that help. Let me know.
    Cheers!

It is easy to remove and replace grommets. It should take not more than 10 minutes to remove all grommets from Yonex racquets, and less than 10 minutes to put them back again.

Even non-Yonex racquets with bell-shaped grommets can be removed in less than 10 mins. Bell-shaped grommets should be cut off and new plain ones with room for two strings should be installed. BTW, bell-shaped grommets are a big drag on the swing of a racquet and is an idea misapplied. In this respect, Yonex has more common sense by disregarding bell-shaped grommets.

    Grommets

Does anyone know where I can buy grommets from for Yonex rackets.

There are 3 types on my racket. The small ones, the slightly larger ones and the u-shaped ones.
I am hoping to find a web site that accepts GBP, so ideally based in the UK.

    I use a Nano 8000 racket.

    Thanks

check with Yonex UK and see if there is an auth dealer near you. If so, you should be able to ask for free replacement grommets. If not, Ask Yonex UK to send you some. Worse case, you can go some online badminton store to buy bulk generic grommet.

Or you could get them from Japan if you know what the grommet set number is for the applicable racket model.

the U-shaped once are different between B1,2 and B3,4

there are different sizes and it's not one size fits all. be careful about that

Try http://www.hiquasports.com/ badminton store. Their grommets work with Yonex rackets.

The Hi-qua grommets don't work on all the yonex rackets. MP rackets need grommets from yonex because they need to be thin to fit on the rounded frame.
