I was surprised with the aggressive play style of Hendrawan. In fact, I never seen him making so many jump smashes before.
I think he had to change his style at the last minute to wrap up the game quickly against Roslin. He wouldn't be able to last 5 sets otherwise. But as I alwez say, I'm no expert so pls dun take me seriously. Too excited to sleep!
It didn't seem like a last minute change. Anyway since he said he practised very hard according to the new format, this must be the results of his hard work. He was just SO good. I'm glad they went into the 5th match so that I could get to see him play again!!! Hendrawan, my idol. The commentators said that he is one of the nicest ppl you can meet. Wow. And altho I feel really happy to see Indonesia retain the Cup despite all prior speculations about their strength, it was so heartbreaking to see my fav pair of Chan/Chew being slaughtered alive on court by Candra/Sigit. I thought they would have given much more resistance than this since the results have been getting better with every encounter. But they looked like a different pair from that who beat the Thais and the Chinese. Seems like previous defeats have done much damage to their confidence. Then again, Candra and Sigit are simply much faster and sharper. Sigh... PEHL thinks very highly of Chan Chong Ming. Sadly, he didn't manage to prove his worth today. ALL THE WAY CHAN!!! Oh Hendrawan cried after his match. Halim, Taufik and Candra cried (teared) when they were singing the National Anthem. I was humming along too tho I don't know the words. Must have heard it so many times I can rem how it goes. Haha...
But the crap of the day is Roslin Hashim! He simply shows that he does not have it in him to play good badminton anymore. It's time for him to hang his racquet to give way to more promising youngsters like Sairul Amar Ayob and James Chua.
Anyway ... I would like to thanks all the Indonesian Thomas Cup Team for their great effort and great job to make this happens. Bravo Indonesia
Hendrawan is a very nice guy. I met him once, he is a low profile guy. Most of the time, he adds his practise hours. Congratulation Hendrawan!!! I hope he can win Olympic gold.
