He played really cool! Took advantage of Taufik's distress well. Although, Taufik was running away with the 4th game, I think the 90sec break broke the rhythm allowing Lee to regain the mental initiative.
Limited skills ,could have lost if opponent didn't have a screw loose in head. i don't think Msia expected this lineup, that's why they fielded Roslin.
Look, lets not say who is talented or who is not. The fact is that Taufik lost and Lee TS won. Mind you, Lee TS is not lacking in the talent department as well, if he is, Morten Frost the legendary dane would not have spotted him. Limited skills my foot, his sideline smashes were wonderful, and he was far faster to the net than Taufik. I think Taufik is an overhyped player. I am not saying his is not good, but if TS won it, then credit should be given to him. Beautiful strokes and a cute face are not the main criteria in defining a talented player, it is everything in the game encompassing anticipation, speed, power, agility, fitness, focus and mental strength that counts. I enjoy watching Taufik play, but due credit should be given to Lee TS today for playing magnificently. Don't forget that he beat Taufik the last time they met as well.
definately so. Taufik might be the most talented player on the circuit but if he can;t win, it counts as a loss. Lee TS deserves credit.
But I think Lee Tsuen Tseng would have to improve his netplay when he returns to Malaysia. His netplay is not really that tight and quite high... (Hafiz also) He must improve that if he wanna be a top player in the world. And he must also keep his fighting spirit. I hope he and Hafiz will become a top player quickly...
Lee's net shot is too loose. Taufik's main problem is himself, if he could keep concentration after he won the first game, he would won.
If you always look at the bad points, then moral will suffer. Don't Lee TS and Hafiz deserve any praise for winning?
Under Indra Gunawan's guidance, Lee Tsuen Seng would only improve further to be among the best on par with the powerful Chinese youngsters. One good quality of this youngster is he has high respect for his coach unlike some of our doubles players who seem to be quite arrogant with their past good results.
I had a look at the game of Lee TS and Taufik again. 1) Taufik's fitness was not as good as before. In the 4th game, he was angry and played very fast sunsequently winning the game but cannot keep up the standard in the 5th. 2) Lee TS played clever playing a lot of shots down the centre of the court, not giving Taufik the angle to work to play to corners. This was a tactic used by Boonsak in defeating Taufik in the Asia Cup and also by Anders Boesen in the s/f match. Since we talking about Lee's performance in this match, we should first acknowledge his magnificent contribution in helping his country.
