It's not until playing with some really good university team players when I realise I have serious problems with my forehand netshots. I miss them consistantly. 4-5/10. Their shots are much faster and I'm struggling to reach them at forehand net. I'm puzzled about preparation stance. When waiting for the next shot, should I place my right foot in front of (or behind) left (right handed) or in parallel? also, how to deal with fake moves?
It really depends on what you're more comfortable with. Experiment a little and see what works out best for you. However, generally a right handed player would stand in a ready position with his right foot ahead of his left. Look through Gollum's Badminton Bible footwork article.
