    Yes, it's getting worse

From 1 April 2009, all badminton competitions will be played outdoor :(
From 1 April 2009, a player may use two racquets - one in each hand :(
From 1 April 2009, serving will be from behind the baseline (like tennis) :(
From 1 April 2009, a player will be allowed only one smash during a rally :(

Indeed, there's something so mysterious about April 1

    err.... Master Oldhand
can you elaborate more on that serve and smash part?
    is it overhead serve?
how about drop and drive? will it be once only?
how about shuttlecock? will it using plastic? (since we discuss so much plastic vs feather)
    :D:p:D:p

You really like to keep the fire going even in summer, huh? :p

To clarify: The serve will be delivered from below-the-waistline.

By the way, they are now testing shuttles made of recycled paper.
These might be officially released for international play on 1 April 2009.

It is possible that Badminton will be dropped from the Olympics. It is not a joke.

Now and then (especially when re-setting the ruffled feathers), we do hold the shuttle and the racquet in the same hand, don't we? :D
