You can use slow-moving alternatives, such as balloons, to help develop coordination.

simple, you don't. Wait till he's a bit older... Badminton is about natural talent.

    Badminton is for any age

Try using a short racquet to begin with.

It's a natural step up when their ready for a full size one.

    I'm disappointed by this statement.

Just because the child is unable to hit the shuttle doesn't mean he should give up. If they get enjoyment then great. Both my kids 8 & 5, hit the shuttle very well. The important thing is to be very patient and inventive. The funny thing is, many kids find hitting underarm harder that tapping overarm.

Use a cut down racket - lower the net to childs head height, short backswing and simple tap tap or knock knock

I agree. Im disapointed that you said that. In Indonesia, kids start badminton when they are 5/6, and by the time they are 10 years old, they are godly. They are considered High B class players at the age of 12 if u put it in level, but they dont have levels there. The easiest thing to do is to just feed him cocks/birds. Let him keep hitting it first, doesnt matter how. After awhile, correct his hand. Make sure his grip is right. That is the most important. THen just keep feeding him until he can hit properly.
