:)I have 2 machines -an Exthree 6 Point Crank, and an Ektelon 2 Point Crank, both of which are fully operational. I string all rackets i.e. Tennis, Squash, Racquetball, but my sport is definitely Badminton.

Re stringing tensions, I find that no players are really certain about string or indeed tensions, and look to the stringer to provide the perfect restring.

So in most instances, I will string at mid recommended string tensions i.e. - 18-22lbs, I will do at 20lbs. Also re string, I tend to purchase Yonex BG 80 Yellow, or BG65 White. I buy 200m reels at a time, as this is the most cost effective way.

Based in Glasgow area, and await comments, questions or advice.

Prices vary, dependant on string requested, but if left to my own choice average price per racket is circa £14.00, including grommet replacement.

Trust this helps, and look forward to your response.

I Get my rackets strung at the cockburn centre for £12. That included grommet replacement. I use bg-65 though. How much would that cost?

Your £14.00 is not expensive (if you are good). For those tell you he got his done for £12.00 than they should keep going there.
I charge £12 with customer's own string. If a customer is looking for cheap stringing job, there are thousands out there can do it for nothing, but if you want a good stringing job, than you got to pay for it.

likewise though a cheaper price does not neccessarily mean a poorer quality job.

In stringing - which is labour only - and in particular home based stringers, the price is simply a reflection on what the stringers want personally for the job. it is no reflection on the quality of job.

Ian D - maybe no one wants there strings doing? there may be 5 mil of you, but you don't all play badminton...do you?

Thanks for your replies, and yes, I know that I won't become a millionaire through restringing, but I am in this for the long term, and so far I have had no complaints or indeed returns. Yes Janesd20, I know that all 5 million of us don't play, but the ones that do still require this service.
    Thanks and Regards

    GREAT!

I've split the strings of both my racquets so could really do with re-stringing, how long does this usually take?

    Normally within 24 Hours.

Do you have any preference re String to be Used and Tension Required.

If you still restring with Yonex BG 80 Yellow then that would be great. I'm not totally sure about tension, but I think I'd need 18 or 20lbs

Yes no Problems to restring in Yonex BG 80 Yellow, and tension is okay. Please advise rackets involved, and if unsure about tension, then I would probably suggest 22/23lbs, dependant on rackets, and your level of play.
