I have 5 hours of olympics badminton action on 2.5 tapes. If you live in Canada or even USA and are interested, please post it under this thread.
I have 2.5 tapes on Sydney 2000 Olympics. They include: All Men single semi-final matches Men single final Men double final Women Single final Women Double final Mixed Double final The tapes I have are copied tapes, but the image quality is acceptable. You may miss one or two points on men single and women double matches due to bad recording. Send me an email if interested.
Well..I emailed him and he said those are $40 for 3 tapes...plus handling and shipping to my place..Vancouver...so I donno about other places~he also said he doesn't promise any refunds if we're not satisfied with it~
Hey Canyt, where is this guy from? I guess I'll purchase like only one tape and then I'll tell you guys the results.
I have no idea! I just emailed him and got his reply! Maybe you should try emailing him and ask if you can buy 1 tape!
RE: Cheaper place to get Olympics videos $40 for Olympics tape is too much and you don't know the quality of the tape. The best thing to try is to go to china town if you live in the city. Usually some specialized chinese store carry badminton tape and it usually cost $1 or $2 for a tape. I live in Calgary Alberta, and 3 months ago I rented 5 tapes of All England 2000 for $10 for a week. Maybe I go down tomorrow to check if they have Olympics Tape.
RE: Cheaper place to get Olympics videos Thanks for the tips, vince. These goodies are so close of my reach but I don't even know about them. That 40$US tapes equates to 60$ cdn + shipping. Don't worry, i'll let u rent the olympics tapes first if they have them.
RE: Cheaper place to get Olympics videos Here is the answer for your questions: 1. I live in Toronto Canada. 2. If you want to know about the imge quality of the tapes, you can check with Kwun Han. He got 2 Olympics tapes from me. 3. Of course it is much more cheaper if you can find a place to rent out badminton video. I wish I live in Calgary as well. 4. I ask for CAD$40 not US$40.
RE: Cheaper place to get Olympics videos cj, i didnt meant to misquote you. Most people here have been using HK$ and US$. I incorrectly assumed it was in US$.
video quality... i have the tapes for all the events except mixed doubles.. the tapes are definitely very watchable. i'd rate the quality between fair and good. frankly, i think my cable tv at home sometimes produce worse images.. there are around 10 mins or so where the quality is really poor. but hey, it is much better than not able to watch it at all!
RE: Cheaper place to get Olympics videos Hey Vince, why don't you duplicate the rented tapes and sell it here for $5~~ hahaha! I'll sure buy it from ya~
RE: Cheaper place to get Olympics videos I am sorry, I don't know the name of the store but I can tell you which block. The store locate in Centre St, if you heading South on Centre St, you go pass the Lion Bridge and it on your left hand side. It between 2-3 ave or 3-4 ave, I am not sure but the door is red and beside it, I believe they sell BBQ duck. On the window they display variety of chiness tape, like Bruce Lee tape. And I don't mean to offend you, CJ, I just want to help out other if I can.
RE: Cheaper place to get Olympics videos I didn't go to Chinatown town today so I don't know if they have the Olympics tape or not but I do have All England 2000 and Thomas Cup (I am not sure what year, it the year when Taufik beat Ji Xinpeng). I don't think I can make it any cheaper than what CJ offer because 5 new tapes cost about $15 and it takes about 12Hr to records, and plus shiping and handling cost, so CJ offer is very reasonable. I do not planning to record and sell tapes, I just want to let you know Chinatown do rent all kind of tape that you don't find it in Block Buster Video. So next time you visit Chinatown, just look and ask around.
