On Friday June 13th 2008, Raymond Zhang (a member of University of Toronto’s Varsity Blues badminton team) lost his mother Lam Ngoc Quyen after a lengthy struggle against cancer. Varsity Blues with the support ofUniversity of Toronto and the Baddy Smash Squad of Hamilton is hosting a benefit doubles tournament on Saturday July 26th at the Athletic Centre(55 Harbord Street, Toronto) with all proceeds being used to help Raymond defray the costs associated with his mother’s funeral. Players of all abilities and ages are welcome to participate.
