The replacement of yonex string grease,to prevent the string repulsion drop
Hi everyone i'm interested with yonex string grease,is it effect in repulsion, cause after the grease is dry,I fell the string repulsion is drop.
many people try to resolve this problem by waxing the string by candle,to make the string didnt dry and still had a grease to make the repulsion good.
and the other by adding silicone grease to the string, cause silicone grease didnt harm the string.
any recomendation or opinion about this?
Thank U very Much

I have never heard of anyone greasing their string. I can imagine that you would have no control due to the slippery string.

Doesn't it make the string wear out faster since it moved more due to the grease?!

Are you talking about the Silicone smell when you receive the newly strung racquet? It has no effect on the tension drop. If you refer to the Ti coding on the BG65ti or BG68ti string, they are thin coatings jacket on the string, there is nothing you can do to prevent that coating wearing either. These are just natures of the string...

Yes I mean the silicone smell when we bought newly strung racket.I know it has no effect on tension drop, what about the repulsion, cause dry string repulsion is different with string covered by silicone grease that newly strung racquet had.and usually in indonesia people waxing the string by candle stick by scrubbing it to the string, do you have any idea why they do that? to prevent the string break ? or to keep the repulsion?

You really got me this time. I know what you are talking about but I have no answer to your question. I never did any study or experiment on that. Sorry my friend... I can call Yonex and ask. However, as far as I know, I never notice the Si smell from YY string...

Maybe you can try putting on the tennis string savers if they are small enough.
