New Toalson Strings

I bought it 3 weeks ago at Queensway but haven't try.

 

This is almost like hybrid stringing, ie: having bg70pro for the mains and bg66 for the crosses.

 

Anyone tried hybrid string?
main and cross different thickness.

Any different with normal string?

Ok,

I have discover some important information about this SN-6470 !!!!!!!

The "Main" string was TOALSON 65 Premier (0.70mm) & the "Cross" was TOALSON 0.66mm not 0.64mm

The SN-6470 is just a change of packing and the contents is actually as same as it 0.70 and 0.66 strings available in the market. I have been CHEATED.

The worst thing was during the stringing process, the cross string (0.66mm) snapped at 28Ibs. I was using 4 knotted string method.

So, I have bought an expensive string (SGD$14-00) but don't have a chance to taste it.

The snapped at the cross string also happen to it TOALSON DURAPOWER 66 (0.66mm). I bought 5 packs, 3 of them consider burn because the cross string snapped at 28Ibs during the stringing process.

Sigh...........

 

Sorry, the word "Premier" should be "Premium".

 

Is this string really that bad? Anyone managed to string this string successfully? Comments?

 

The string stats looks similar to BG66 but with less performance overall.

 

Im using the nano premium 66 now. I got it strung at 30lbs a couple of weeks ago. A friend of mine said yesterday that my tension have gone down to about 25lbs.

 

i've used the SN-6470 today. strung it at 27lbs on my W16. it's really good, repulsion almost as good as BG66, has a great hitting sound, and i like the control it gives me on shots. i think i might be using this string more often on my other rackets.

 

I'm reviving this... because I got some Toalsin strings to test

I have:
BL-7000 (0.70mm)
X-65 (0.70mm)
Nano Premium 65 (0.70mm)
Nano Platinum 66 (0.66mm)
Ultimate power 69 (0.69mm)

So far, I tried the X65 and BL7000 at 26.5x28 (both strung the day before: very fresh)

The X65 is one heck of a stiff string, It didn't feel that way when pre-stretching, but it definatly felt liek that on court.
At 0.70mm, it's the kind of 0.70mm like Yonex and RSL (thicker than MP) and it performed decently, it was very crisp.
However, it's very brittle, I did a decent smash and it just passed away....
maybe at lower tension it's recommend, but for 26+lbs I'd pick:

BL7000
It says 'biologic' on the pack, but it's not a gut-string... it doesn't feel that way (also...it takes 30lbs on the tie off...not gut)
It performed better than X65: it's less brittle, feels better and sounds just awesome
My memory for strings is terrible, but I'd say it feels like a thicker version of MP.

Coming up NP66, NP65 and UP69!

((Disclaimer: my reviews are pretty bad, because for the last 4months I've exclusively used RSL LT70, a relatively unknown, 0.70mm thick string. I love it, it lasts me long enough and performance doesn't suffer too much. So in my prediction: the 0.66mm strings will probably perform amazing, and last me half an hour before the inevitable mishit and the 0.70mm strings will get my thumb up as long as they hold tension))

 

Thanks for that, jerby. I've got some Toalson strings to test too. Can't remember which models but they were so cheap I thought I may as well try them on a backup racket.

 

Tonight it was the UP69's chance to shine.
Except that it didn't... It's lost more tension than the BL7000, but it's a fresher strung racket.
It's a slick string, not very grippy, not very powerfull.
I'd still pick the BL7000.

 

Okay, final review.

The nano Platinum 66 is told you about isn't a Taolson string, it's a YangYang string... Not featured in this review:

Ultimate Power 69, 0.69mm
Not really that much thinner than the 0.70mm counterparts, and it didn't perform on par with the rest. It starte fraying from day 1, losing tension like mad and feeling rather dead. Not recommended

X65, 0.70mm
The label says it should feel softer, but it's a damn stiff string... I wrecked it pretty fast, because it's so brittle. But it felt decent, nothing special, except very stiff.
recommended for tensions under 25lbs.

BL7000, 0.70mm
Hard to find info about this string, the packaging is weird, and the name suggests gut, but it didn't feel like it.
So far it has survived 4 sessions, and it's still reasonably on tension. It feels solid and crisp, no complaints what so ever.
I'd recommend BL7k to anyone who wants good durability and still decent performance

NP65, 0.70mm
the last, but not the least. NP65 feels and performs way better than X65 and feels a lot like BL7k. I doubt I could really distinguish between the two (except for tension differences, my np65 is the freshest, bl7k is already over a week old)

So far, toalson strings haven't been disapointing, NP65 and BL7k are amongst the best strings I ever tried, filling that niche between MP/bg80 and BG65: a crisp well-performing string that cna take a mishit
