Coaches don't have the heart to say no to veterans who still want a last shot for glory even when indications are they are fast going downhill.The thought they may just go out in shame and at the expense of a golden exposure opportunity for a younger, more deserving teammate may or may not have crossed their minds.
Well, are ZN and JE/ML deserving of their retirement gift? We shall see.

it is really a 50/50 deal. ZN is experienced but form dipped lately. ZL form is always only 80% but young and less experienced.

only time will tell if the Chinese coaching staff made the right decision.

It seems unfair to ZL. But what we don't know is ZN's form after the Indonesia Open.

I thought Zhu Lin should be chosen ahead of Zhang Ning as the latter has not been performing well for the last one year but then again, WS is so unpredictable nowadays. I won't be surprised if early exits of the duo, Xie and Zhang during Asian Games 2006 take place again on the Olympic stage.

Who is ZL beaten in WC? poor her,. Last turnament in IO,. Showing that both of them lack of stamina.. But i still prefer ZL since in WS many players with super stamina such as rasmussen, WMC, or maria kristin?? Hahaha
no matter who is chna plyers goin to OG. The medal still goin to them..

Gossips that I heard that ZL may get married next year to NW...that could let LYB send ZN instead of ZL...if it is true...ZL will be 26 or 27 she will be eligible to represent HKG.

I think Zhu Lin has better chance to win, since she is much younger and Zhang Ning is 33 years old now.

i know they are couple but i don"t know their relationship is as stable as to marry so soon . maybe they have been dating for a long period of time

ZL is too unfit, and lacks the power game that the other 3 have.
Who in their right minds would think just because the decision to play ZN instead of ZL will jeoporadise China's chances of gold? XXF alone is enough to beat everyone, while Lu Lan is super superb and can beat anyone as well.
