My sister has an old Aerotus 110 racket and has recently started to play a little badminton. This racket is about 11 years old, is it still ok to string it? She's going to be playing very casual, maybe once every 2 weeks. She's not a smasher, she likes to drop and drive a lot. She hasn't played for about 10 years, so her technique is very rusty, her swings are not fast. Playing mix doubles most of the time. What string and tension would you suggest? Thanks in advance!
If she like to drive a lot, give her a Honda Civic. Fun to drive and great mpg. OK no more joke. Yes, it is safe to restring the AR110 given that there was no major clash before. If the racquet condition is good, you can go 10% above the recommended tension and still safe for the racquet. I will recommend BG85 @ 20x22lb to start with.
thanks to master SH for the explanation. hit and run from me.....just now all the high end stuff is good. rackets to shoes to strings ..... whether it is justifiable or recommendable to use at one's need. NBG98 and NBG95 are those high ends with high price. highly durable too. for a player that seldom smash or power play, will be fully utilize its performance? normal plays with dropshot, "drive" or clears are not necessary to use NBG strings. yes, you may opt to use it. yes, you may strung it till 32lbs. just, is it worth? other strings can be considered such as bg-66 or bg-80.
At this tension ( 20*22 ) and how often she is going to play ( once every 2 weeks ), there's no point in getting a durable strings such as bg65, bg70pro or nbg95 because she would have cut the strings to get them replaced again, before the high-performing strings such as bg85/bg80/bg66 even break.
BG80 and BG66 is good idea also if she don't smash those string will last for a long time. i have a BG66 never have heavy smash last for 3 years 21lbs or 22lbs is good number
i guess in time she will learn to hit the shot it's need to be fast only when the string contact the shuttle ... don't have to be the whole swing that is fast . BG66 is the most thin string that is still cheap enought for everyone to buy BG80 is a good string too
In addition to the bg66, there's bg6 (0.66mm) as well. Cheaper, but not available in most parts of the world. It can be commonly found in south east asia.

morning everyone. I have a quick question. I have been asked to repair a racket string where the knot has come undone on the last main string. What is the best method to take in repairing this? I also looked at the knot for the cross strings and this has moved inside the grommet at the top of the racket,is this ok?? Please help
