    Hi

A friend of mine is asking me to string his medium flexibility racket for almost defensive playing. So he asking me to advise him what tension is the best for. He is just a beginner and wants to make a high ball when his oppenents is doing a smash. He insist to have it hard, but i told him that a hard stringing rackets need a good ability to handle it in both case for denfense and also for offense. Is that rite?

It should be low tension since he is a beginner who is defensive. Low tension will give more power but if you can flex the string at high tension then go with high tension. Since he is a beginner go with 20-22lbs. Which string are you using?

BG65 should be fine. Just make sure you pre-stretch before you string because BG65 loses tension quite quickly.
