Hello, I am looking for a second racket to complement my Carb 20. I am an intermediate player and I have been using Carb 20 ever since I started playing badminton. I am used to it and have never used any other racket as my primary racket. However, I would like to try different rackets now. I have narrowed down my selection to MP99, Ti10 and Armotec 900T. Besides, I cannot find Carb20 anymore in Singapore. I play mostly doubles (80% and 20% singles). I smash, clear and drop well, but prefer to smash than drop. My weakness is defence. Should I get a racket that complements my strength and get a head-heavy/attacking racket (MP99) or should I get a racket that helps me with my defence and get a headlight or control racket (ie. Ti10 - I can only find the yellow and purple version, not the old/red version or 900T)? Which one is the most similar to the Carb20? Advice please... Some said that MP99 is a difficult racket to use and takes a long time to learn. Is that the experience of everyone or only certain people?
I can't find Carb30MS in Singapore.... I am not familiar with the RSL and SOTX range of rackets.... But I still prefer YY though...
There are some members in US can get a Cab30ms for you at reasonable price. Look around. Best replacement for Cab20. Gives you extra power because of the long shaft. Better for defense because it is little lighter. I will consider MP99 as a good replacement because you have been using Cab20 and you should be able to adapt to MP99 with 1~2 weeks adjustment.
ranking at bras basah has stock of cab30ms. i saw it just 1 day ago (6 Aug). u might want to give it a try http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showpost.php?p=918432&postcount=1456
Thanks. The price difference between MP99 and CAB30MS is $20. I'll go to the shop later today. I'm split between the two now....
I went down to the shop to have a look at the CAB30MS. A bit dissappointed with the condition of the racket. The head was a bit out of shape I thought and there was a slight chip mark on it as well. It was a 2UG5. It was prestrung too with rather high tension, so I am not sure if that caused the head to go out of shape. The lady boss wasn't in the mood to give any discount, so it looks like MP99 for me then.
Just go online and buy the CAB30MS. Don't buy rackets in Australia because the prices are overpriced.
