    I am thinking to change my string from BG 66 Sharp at 26lbs to BG 66 or BG 80. i feel my smash is not generate big power with BG 66 Sharp. My Racquet is ArcSaber 10. and i am intermediate player and my style is offensive player with smash and clear to backcourt.

    Let say i will string at same tension at 26lbs for both BG 66 and BG 80. do you think which one is good for generate big smash with big sound (intimidate sound :) )?

    Thanks

    I think the string isn't the issue here. It sounds like the tension is too high for you. BG66S is a powerful string but you should of used NBG98 instead.

    I find BG80 better than BG66. Just my opinion. Can't seem to do anything right with 66.. maybe just me :eek:.

    Still BG85 > all. :D

    BG-80 = lasts longer
    BG-66 = better feel

    For 'big sound', you can try playing in a small, cramped hall :)
    There, even drops will sound intimidating!

    I would like to consider NBG98 but here in indonesia it hard to find these string. In here BG66 is the most popular one

    Phandrew is = Mr. NBG 98 :D

    For me if only 2 strings are available, I will choose BG66 rather than BG80.
    Bg 80 yes for feel, Bg66 is more repulsive.
    If your power not very strong, I think Bg66 will help a lot.
    If you have strong power Bg80 is the string to go.

    Not too hard anymore, since Sunrise singapore has put this string into their distribution line to indonesia. I just had it one from Buana sport, you may get one also.

    Not sp version. Still JP version.
    Before we have to buy these kind of strings (ex Bg66S, NBG98, etc) directly from online shop or the shop imported directly from japan or any other sources.

    But now Sunrise singapore has decided to carrying also these strings into their product line. Soon, very soon, buying these strings will be as easy as other string.
    This information is from my friend who owned a shop.

    Out of the two I find that I prefer BG66, but they give me different results in terms of being able to control the shuttle. For example, if I drop with BG80 in one of my X2-Pros @ 28lbs, there is less spin and it is a faster, flatter drop. With BG66 on the same racquet and tension, it puts more spin on the shuttle and I have to hit the drops flatter (ie less down angle) to get them over the net, and they are tighter.

    That's my mileage, and yours may vary :)

    EDIT:
    Oh, and I get good power out of both. I have 1 Arc10 (still want an MP100 though) and it is not as powerful as my X2-Pros or the MP100 or MP99, but very easy to use IMO.

    You cannot spin a shuttle with a drop shot or with any shot, but what you are doing is to slice the shuttle.

    How can a string be sharper? If it is sharper wouldn't it cut the shuttlecock?:p:p

    Maybe he was talking about the thickness of the string

    still, for me bg-80 gives better power compare to bg-66, specially for smashing
    bg-66 to flat and too bouncy

    BG66 = 0.66mm
    BG66 Sharp = 0.68mm
    BG80= 0.68mm

    IFAIK this is what Yonex lists the strings as. When making comparisons its better to mention if the BG66 is the Sharp version or not.

    I've played with both the 80 and 66. It's a matter of getting accustomed to them. I prefer the 66. It's also easier to string with.
