String and tension are based on the person's preference. What was your previous string and tension?

Strings can be strung up to 40lbs before it snaps. Rackets can hold 30lbs+ easily with a good stringer.

In what case is a stringer a "good" one? Doesn't it depends on his equiment? The only difference that occurs is when stringing on a ESPRO 5 instead of an eagnas.

It's about how the stringer uses it. If the stringer isn't skilled, I'd assume that he/she would not be able to operate the stringing equipment with precision and the racquet or the string may be damaged.

Go with bg66 then, it is much thinner than bg65 and therefore the repulsion and the feel you'd get out of it would be greater. However, thinner strings have poorer durability than the thicker ones. Since you're still a beginner/intermediate, I'd assume that your strings won't break too quickly even at 26lbs.

    you may test out for your preference;
    1 racket = bg66 @ 23lbs
    1 racket = bg66 @ 25lbs
    1 racket = bg66 @ 27lbs
    scrap the bg65 idea.

unless you're not miss-hitting alot i wouldn't suggest low gauge strings such as BG66 or BG85. cost-wise something like BG80 would probably suit your needs since many smash-based players use this string. however, BG66 is very repulsive but i believe it's a soft string. if restringing isn't a problem with you, you can try out the BG66 and if you don't like it just switch up to BG80

Ashaway MicroLegend = which Yonex string?

I just got my ARC 10 last week and had it strung with Ashaway MicroLegend at 24lbs. I had upgraded from a Nanospeed 4500 with BG65ti at 22lbs.
Took me about 2-3 hours to get used to it but once I got the timing down, MAN! did I love this racquet.
My question is, I did not have a lot of choices with the string and I am not familiar with Ashaway strings. Can anyone tell me which Yonex string is most like the Ashaway ML so I can have a better idea when I experiment with Yonex strings in the future.

    Silver Bullet,
Are you talling about Ashaway MicroLegend or Ashaway MicroLegend XL

MicroLegend is 0.69mm. Yonex BG65(0.70mm) or BG80(0.68mm) most like it I'd say.
MicroLegendXL is 0.73mm and I don't think any Yonex string is that thick.

I am referring to the .69 MicroLegend.

I have been searching the forum and found several comparisons between the strings and I think there are no Yonex strings which is the equivalent of the Ashaway ML. Just wondering where in Yonex's string chart would the Ashaway string sit.

Switching to a new racquet and new string and new tension has been weird. I'm seeing a lot of recommendations for BG 80, BG 85 and NBG95 at high tension for Arcsaber 10 so I think I am going to try BG80 at 26 and see.

I was playing on my friend's newly strung arc 10 recently. String was ngb 98 and ilbs 26. It felt very good. The control on the net and the drop shots were placed with percision and end to end clears was quite effortless. :)

Depends on who strung it, condition of grommets, how hard you smash, how many mishits you do, and the list goes on!! You shall find out that answer soon enough! Assuming that that everything is good condition, and your stringer is good and your technique is decent @ that tension, I'd say 1 - 3 months.

Had my new arc10 strung at 27/29#s with NGY95 one string, and it's perfect. Nice sound and lots of power. Was told the Arc10 needs >26#s to unleash. So far so good.
