Just as what the BBC says:

    Chinese take women's doubles gold

China's Du Jing and Yu Yang eased past South Korea's Lee Hyojung and Lee Kyungwon in the women's doubles to take the first badminton gold of the Games.

Du and Yu won 21-15 21-13 as the South Koreans failed to recover from an early injury to Lee Kyungwon.
The victory for China's second seeds reassured a roaring home crowd, who saw top seeds Yang Wei and Zhang Jiewen go out at the quarter-final stage.
Another Chinese pair, Zhang Yawen and Wei Yili, won the bronze play-off.
The competition's third seeds reached the podium with a 21-17 21-10 victory over Japanese pair Miyuki Maeda and Satoko Suetsuna.
China have now won gold in the women's doubles for the fourth straight Olympics, and the victory sets in motion the hosts' plan for a clean sweep of this year's badminton medals.

They definitely deserve it. They stepped up at the right time and have improved a lot over the last year and a half.

I don't think WYL get's enough credit though. She's only 24 or 25 and has been in 2 OG's and improved on her first performance. I think all the CHN women deserve recognition actually after such a strong showing in this games when everybody had sort of questioned their capabilites.

Well deserved indeed. Also a good display of how WD are transforming into a power game now. Well done for the Korean for getting silver too.

Just saw their match in an update news. Wow! It was an intense match, involving a lot of shouting and aggressiveness. But I must say that Lee Hyo-Jung made a lot of errors, whether forced or unforced, which caused the Koreans dearly, leading to a waist of Lee Kyung-Won's great effort despite her left ankle injury. Needless to say, the Chinese pair have been continuously improving and, thus, will always be one of the toughest contenders in badminton. CONGRATS!!!

I agree, LHJ made way too many errors, while LKW stayed pretty consistant. Either way...good work Yu Yang and Du Jing.:)

The FIGHTING SPIRIT of Du/Yu is a classic example of what attitude badminton players should carry inside the court- FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT! I hope our Filipino badminton players can emulate this attitude when they compete so they can bring glory to our country as well! Congrats Yu/Du, we salute you!
