Is the Yonex MP-22 any good?

i have always played the sport in school but am now looking to get into it and buy a racpuet of my own i was looking over a few yonex racquets and saw the mp 22, haveing not played alot (only with bad school racquets) i was looking to see if any one with more racquets experience had any with the yonex mp 22

?

Yes, the mp22 is an excellent choice for you. Just don't go for any of the high-end, expensive ones.

You can try a Apacs racket since they are pretty cheap. The MP series are good rackets for beginners.

Yeah, if you're really a beginner in this game, using fancy, expensive racket for intermediate or better player will only reduce the game joyful & fun experience for you, just get a decent, 4U racket with medium flex, string it with a rather durable string like BG-65 Ti @around 20-23 main - 22-25 cross, and you're good to go.

To be honest, i think Hart racket would do you the best, especially the medium type ones, because of its oversized head frame which is truly suitable for beginner with its very spacious sweet spot on the frame.

BG65Ti isn't a good string for beginners because it has poor control. BG65 would be a better option.

Well, most beginners would worry about getting the birdie further from their side of the court first, rather than controlling their shot for some tricky stroke, but that might just be me.

My dad r using it as well.It's 2 U.The racket is not bad..but i suggest u to go for cab series..maybe cab8?..By that,u can learn to hit on the sweet spot,where u can get the max power transferred from the impact.

If u have a big power,or wanna train urself for power..use 2U..otherwise,just go for 3U.

String?Any string will do good for a starter,since strings if strung at low tensions,it won't make any obvious differences.If u want more repulsion,then look for strings that's 0.64-0.66mm thick,strung at 23-22lbs n it should do good.

For yonex,BG66 n NBG98 are the options.But if price is the issue,u can go for other brands.

I own a MP-22.
It's handwome looking, light weight and easy to control but a bit weak in power.
Overall it's a very good racket for beginner.

Get something cheap for now. I sold a friend a racquet which I don't use alot and he plays for 3 session and he cracked it ! He keeps on mishitting, hitting the shuttle on the frame and he can still blame me for selling him a defective racquet !
