    Predictions
    ------------

Through our polls, our members predicted two golds for China and one each for Indonesia, Malaysia and Korea.

MS - Malaysia (Lee Chong Wei)
    MD - Korea (Lee Yong-Dae & Jung Jae-Sung)
    WS - China (Xie Xingfang)
WD - China (Yang Wei & Zhang Jiewen)
XD - Indonesia (Nova Widianto & Liliyana Natsir)

Er, not even one prediction came through! :p

    Expectations
    --------------

Quite a few of our members believed that the competition would see a 'one-for-everyone' division of the golds:

MS - Malaysia (Lee Chong Wei)
    MD - Korea (Lee Yong-Dae & Jung Jae-Sung)
    WS - Denmark (Tine Rasmussen)
WD - China (Du Jing & Yu Yang)
XD - Indonesia (Nova Widianto & Liliyana Natsir)

Well, the politically-correct equitable distribution theory didn't pass muster :D

    Results
    --------

Well, this is where the badminton golds went at the 2008 Olympic Games:

    MS - China (Lin Dan)
MD - Indonesia (Markis Kido & Hendra Setiawan)
    WS - China (Zhang Ning)
WD - China (Du Jing & Yu Yang)
    XD - Korea ( Lee Yong-Dae & Lee Hyo-Jung)

    China - 3 Golds
    Indonesia - 1 Gold
    Korea - 1 Gold

We are all blinded by our own predictions. When you are an 'one-eyed' fan, it is easy to miss the target.:D:eek:

When we get more practice, perhaps predictions will better.:)

    The results were really unexpected..

shows how much the Olympics mean to the players, they play with their lives at stake.

in 2012, we will know who wins by just looking at (and not trusting) the BC votes!

I did select LD and ZN as champion and i am sure many people correctly selected the eventual champion as well, just that they are not the majority.

LOL, yup, I got 1 out of 5 right too. I think very, very few of us got more than 3 right.

MS & MD, the 2nd top most votes won gold.
MS was only dept to have top seeds winning in that order : WR#1 gold, WR#2 silver, WR#4 bronze.
MD was next with 1st & 2nd seeds (but WR#3) winning gold & silver, bronze winner is out of top 10, WR#13.

The rest, havent got time to see & count.

I think the most surprising result is XD, few badminton fans who predict the underdog pair Lee Young Dae/Lee Hyo Jung to win gold.
