    Default Recommended Tension for Gosen HY-SHEEP String

    A guy asked me to restring his rackets with Gosen HY-SHEEP (0.80mm) strings.


    What kind tension can this string take? Thank you.

    The rackets are all-graphite, and he's not clear with how much tension he needs. I'm thinking to put 20lbs to be safe.

    The only thing I will worry about is the age of the string. Other wise, 25lb should not even be an issue. By the way, Gosen is still making HY Sheep.

    I think the max tension for string before they snap is 40lbs. Depending on how old the string is the max tension will vary.

    Assuming for synthetic strings yes. But stuff like natural gut is more likely to snap at 25lbs.

    Yeah, but it is a single core nylon with outer wrap around.

    Yonex CBG100 is natural gut so would it snap at 25lbs?

    The recommended tension is 22-26 lbs according to the Gosen USA website.
