A Datukship is a no no

We need to set some standards when dishing out such state awards or else come 2012, we are gonna have 18 year olds walking around as Datuk or Datins.

If Micheal Phelps is Malaysian, he be a Tun by now.

All these titles, in my opinion should be given with due care or else come 2020, 30 million out of say 35 million Malaysians are either Datuk, Datuk Seri, Datin, Tan Sri, Pun Sri or Tun.

If you go to Buckingham Palace and ring the door bell for an appointment to see Queen Elizabeth. I wonder whether she would accept RM100,000 or so for a 'sir' (equivalent to the datuk title) title??? Or would she provide you with a price list of following:

    'Sir' ................ 100,000

    'Lord' ............... 200,000

sshhhhh ... maybe you are new to posting rules here in this forum. Well, take it from someone with some 'experience'. Dont touch on politics, directly at least.

I would suggest instead of using that word 'corruption', I will rephrase my statement to something like this .... "Entrepreneurship is eveywhere in Malaysia and as long as there is a willing buyer and seller, getting a Datukship is possible". ;)

This way you dont give kwun a heart attack.

hate to say it, but i have to agree with pemuda on this one.
it's not that i'm not a fan of LCW, i'm a big fan actually, but giving him Datukship now is kinda premature.
i would feel differently if he were to win MAS's first olympic gold, that person ought to get Datukship for sure.
