I watched a couple of Maria's video over the weekend, Olympics and the recent SC. She is a very good player both technically and tactically. just hope that she can get rid of all those injuries and keep improving.

Don't think that Maria Kristin injury has recovered. She didn't perform so well in Sudirman Cup. Let's see in upcoming two SS...

Injury or no, I don't think that was the cause of Maria's unexpected defeat to madbad's babe. Even though Maria had all the right shots, she let HHY dictate the rally and made so many unforced errors. fastdrop and I were so disappointed, it was a total reversal from her much better performance against Wang Yihan.

Ya ya... I hope she can perform better than SC.

Especially about tons of errors...sigh... I remember one of commentator at Olympic said that she has Indonesian's lazy style, just glide around the court. Yes, she has lazy style but so diligent to sending the shuttle out.

    Come on Maria!

I think her knee still haunting her play......she still lag of smooth movement in court, same to WMC......still no there yet, they both still need more treatments for their injury.........

technically and tactically, she can really compete with the world's best. she just negates everything by giving away so many easy points through unforced errors. she should've won the match against Hwang Hye Youn (Kor) in the SC semifinals. many times, she outmaneuvered HHY yet she committed countless errors. i hope she can minimize this next time in her future games. i'm still a fan of the laid-back, poker-faced playing style.

and before i forget, her knee injury may also have something to do with it

    Default About Maria's knee injury/problem..

..although she can recover from her knee injury/problem, i doubt it'll go away or disappear. Unfortunately it'll always come back to haunt her...Just curious, does anyone know if she has undergone some sort of surgery to rectify whatever is bothering her?..

I became an instant fan of hers right after watching her first game with Wang YH during the recent Sudirman Cup, where she outplayed her. It's too bad she couldn't stretch that winning spirit to the end. Nevertheless I like her unassuming character, just like H. Setiawan.

I agree to certain extent, but this was Maria's first tournament in ages, so when a player is out of the game for so long, usually the hardest thing is the big point and confidence issue. Hopefully she'd improve on that in the next tournaments. She's capable of it, she just needs to push a bit harder.

and she decided to skip the Singapore Open as i read in KOMPAS newspaper today..so she will be in hibernate mode once again.

except for IO and WC i think when she has a "duty" to represent INA, (although she is injured i think she -or some people- will "force" her to play at those two tournament)

poor maria, poor INA WS..i think INA should just focused on regeration (now or never)

Her injury has not yet fully recovered, possibly INA SS is the last tourney for Maria before World Championships?!
