In the Eastern Suburbs Nunawading Recreaction Centre (never busy but only 3 courts, $14AUD hour) Springers Recreaction Centre (Sydney 2002 courts from olympics<pro shop aswell>) Kilsyth Badminton Centre (my favourite 15 courts I think also about $14AUD hour) Box Hill Recreation Centre (plenty of courts though I hate the crappy nets) More later...
Transport same here you can get to those spots using public transport. nunawading rec centre is less that 1 minute walk from nunawading station which is on the lilydale/belgrave line kilsyth is closer to croydon station which is on the ringwood line and about a 30 minute walk from there. MSAC I think there is a tram line going down that street whixh MSAC is located Hawthorn, Im don't exactly know if that is closer to Hawthorn or Glenferrie stations but It would be close to one of them. There is a train line that finishes out at springvale, and a few kilometres down the round is a really good place called springers which suprisingly ayl doesnt know about. And as Iv said before they have the sydney 2000 olympic courts there. And because it is the main asian community in melbourne you should be able to find plenty of action around there.

Best Badminton store in the eastern Area is tension 24 in Glen Waverly. Visit there website www.tension24.com.au
There are also private people working from home who deal in badminton products in the Glen Wavery Area.
badminton in Melbourne As i know there is a person who working from home and deal in badminton products as well, which beat the retail price thus u will feel that worthy.
Tension 24 sucks Tension 24 is not a great place for badminton gear, limited range of rackets, mainly older model Yonex ones at ridiculous prices, 2-3 times more expensive than other places. Range of shuttles? What a joke they stock like only 1-2 types at once again ridiculous prices. Racket restringing $45 bucks!!! Are u serious?? I get my rackets restrung with any string I want for $20 bucks!!! Even Sportsmart is way better, more rackets, more brands, hell of alot cheaper and huge range of shuttles at decent retail prices. Anyone that shops at Tension 24 has been hit in the head with a shuttle too hard! Nuff said.
I agree great shop, but little expensive. Tip for anyone, do not buy stuff at MSAC shop, even more expensive. There is a shop along Mt.Alexander parade, has a tennis racquet hanging over the front door, that's not bad either.
anybody know where to get Carlton Airblade Superlite and Prince TT Attitude/Warrior in Melbourne? Tension 24 carries only Yonex and man their selling the Armortec 500 for AUD$249/USD$193. i doubt that is a reasonable price. anybody know where i can get it for a reasonable price? Tracy & GRObFURSt can you give me contacts of your private sellers? i assume they carry Yonex only (and authenthic ones i hope). i'm looking for either 1 of the 3 i listed.. with the Prince Attitude being my main choice... EDIT: anybody bought stuff from http://ecommerce.racketsports.com.au/catalog/default.php before? their pricing seems to be on par with other webstores online and much cheaper than local shops.. but could they be selling fakes? anybody purchased from them before?
racketsports.com.au vendor Yeah I went to Tension 24 and you are right, their prices are a bit high, but there isn't too many places around Melbourne - have you tried Prelli Racquets in Victoria St.? I just purchased the AT700 from www.racketsports.com.au, delivery was pretty fast and they threw in a free restring. Unfortunately my new BG68Ti snapped after hitting with it maybe 4 times:crying: , but the racquet is fine . So I don't think they are selling fakes . Otherwise try eBay, maybe some good deals there?
Now that's funny Yeah there is not much of a range there and so expensive$$$$$$$$ But don't look at the MSAC shop then or you will get a heart attack dude

melbourne uni badminton club Hi, I play at the melbourne uni badminton club. As a student, I pay $70 per year, and we can play for more than 10 hours per week on 8 courts. Shuttles are free, there is also training available. newplayer
Just wondering if the training at MelU is good cause I heard there were too many players and too few coaches? I am a graduate from there so the next question will be do they allow public to come and train?
Hi, I've never trained at the club. There are 2 types of trainings: Saturday: Advanced training for university team players who play at inter-uni competitions. The coaches used to be on the Chinese national team. VERY exhausing physically. Cost: $4.5 Sunday: Beginner's training. The coach is the president of the club -- an A grade player. Cost $3 On the weekend, one can generally play as many games as one wants, because not that many people come to play. Website: http://badminton.musa.net.au/news.html newplayer
Melb Uni coaching The coaching programme is taking a short break while the uni team goes off for the southern aus uni games. It will resume on the 16th July. There are two coaches for about 15 or so players - pretty fair ratio i think. It's pretty tough but that's the point of advanced coaching right? Coaching is only available to club members, this is due to uni regulations and insurance reasons. Non-members can still come to play socially, $5.50 per visit. There is plenty of space on weekends, usually my friends and i can play non-stop all sunday afternoon. Zello
Sug 2005 It's being held at Latrobe Valley, southeast Vic. The various sports are held in Traralgon, Moe, Morwell and Churchill. Baddie's at Monash Churchill Campus. The uni games start next monday 4th july, baddie is on 5-7th. We're gunning for another gold
