. Greetings, Melbourne CBA New 2009 Competition Seasons Received this mail from CBA. ====== * ====== start mail ====== * ====== CBA will change it's seasons to Autumn and Spring seasons as from 2009. There will be a short Summer 2008 season to enable this change-over. Summer 2008 season will run from October 6th to no later that December 5th, a period of 9 weeks. Autumn 2009 will commence on 9th February and run until 22nd June with a break for the School holidays (and Easter) in April. Spring 2009 will commence on 20th July and run until 30th November with a break for the September school holidays. We will continue with 2 player 2 hour singles, and 4 player 3 hour mixed doubles competitions. Entries for the Short Summer 2008 season will be required during the finals of the current season. The exact format of the season will depend on the number of teams in each grade: * 7 or 8 teams will mean 7 matches and 2 finals (top 4 teams play), * 5 or 6 teams will mean 5 matches and 3 weeks of finals with all teams playing, and * 4 teams will mean 6 matches and 2 weeks of finals with all teams involved. Clubs will be asked to give the CBA committee an indication of the teams they are likely to field in the Autumn 2009 season at the finals of the Summer 2008 season and definite team entries will be required no later than Australia Day (Jan 26) 2009. ====== * ====== end mail ====== * ====== Please respond, if any CCC players are interested in participating in the above CBA Summer/Autumn/Spring Competitions.
