Just wonder how many universities in the US give recognition to badminton players when they apply for entry in their degree course. We heard of tennis, basketball and golf players being offered scholarships by US universities. What about badminton players ?

Not sure about in US, but in AUS we get small recognition if we are in or was in state team.

In the US, even UCI, the #1 university team isn't recognized because we're still a club(I'm at UCI). Even UCLA who use to be #1 isn't a full team but only a club if I remember correctly, and obviously not recognized either.

The reason they don't recognise is that the sport is very popular with Asian students, and white american folks don't play that much or good at, so they don't think of it highly, just a backward game. This is just unfortunate.

Just imagine, Kung Fu was purely asian but Bruce Lee internationalised it. We need a Bruce Lee in badminton and it has to happen in America.
