ANNA RICE IS PLAYING AT LEE'S! www.leesbadminton.ca lol they're going to have her play against their junior team...
it was great actually! i have so much respect for anna rice now. she is such a wonderful person. the rally between her and michelle li was phenomenol, as well as the 2 doubles games (anna rice and lee's coach vs. michelle li (rank 1 girls) and timothy chiu (rank 6 guys). also alot of free giveways! go anna rice!
vaguely.. but unfortunately michelle li lost =( first game was like 21-18 i think 2nd one.. id ont remember maybe 21-13?
The indo coach good too? Is he an immigrant in Canada? What about the indo female coach? Why didn't she play Singles with Rice? It should be more entertaining....
Ronny, the indonesian male coach is pretty experienced, and a good player at that. I don't know Meliuwati that well, so I can't comment on her playing skills. Still, she is the reigning Toronto Open champion...
rony is amazing, he's the most deceptive player ive ever seen, has been in high end training with taufik, widianto when he was young and on the indo national team
Is he planning to play at the Toronto Open in Jan 2009? I don't remember him playing at any provincial either! He got to show us his guts!
well rony actually just came from indo last year, he doesnt play in touraments because of lack of partnership, ill try to convince him ^_^. You'll be impressed.
can't wait! may be troy chandra, efendi wijaya or kevin cao will play with him i.e if he got permission from his boss!
I guess a really late reply, but I was there as well. I think Anna was trying to bridge the gap between students & players, since so many talented people drop out as they get older because of school priorities. It was a good promotion of badminton in the country for sure, and she had some practical tips. It was definitely great to watch (the singles and doubles). I think Anna was more for keeping a good game going rather than out for the kill. She's not flashy, but a very solid player from the serve to the last shot.
why would she go for a wilson sponsorship rather than a yonex one, or is she not eligible for a yonex one? I heard from some one that m. li held back on her.
well not all players have to use yonex you know, its true that the greater majority of national/international players are all sponsored by yonex but its what the player feels most comfortable using and that can always be some other brand. she should most deffinetly be eligible for a yonex sponsorship she has very impressive tournament results as well.
